BackCountry 101
Join our guides for a bottom up intro into backcountry skiing and splitboarding. We will start with the basics to provide a solid foundation and introduction to earning your turns and getting out into the backcountry.
THIS WILL INCLUDE:
reading the weather and avalanche forecasts
equipment to have in your pack and how to pack for the backcountry
using your beacon, shovel, and probe
how to use skins and other equipment
basics of route finding, terrain management and decision making in avalanche terrain.
BackCountry 201
Intended to be a next step up from our Backcountry 101, skiers and splitboarders will build upon the basics of getting out into the backcountry.
THIS WILL INCLUDE:
utilizing local weather and avalanche forecastS
Snowpack structure observationS
identifying avalanche problems and appropriate tour planning
decision making, communication and group dynamics
ADVANCED TOURING, SKIING, RIDING
Intended to the seasoned Backcountry enthusiast with years of Backcountry experience, a Level 1 or 2 / Rec 1 education and looking to get out with a local guide to explore our terrain and earn some turns!
